STANDISH, Mich. (April 23, 2020) – Forward Corporation, owner and operator of 56 Subway® restaurants in 16 counties throughout Michigan, today announced a partnership between Subway and Feeding America® to provide up to 15 million meals* to feed people in need in communities across the country, including those in Michigan. Through Thursday, April 30, with the purchase of every Footlong for takeout, catering or delivery, Subway will provide a meal* to Feeding America.

With Feeding America predicting food banks needing an additional estimated $1.4 billion over the next six months to feed people in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic, community members can lend their support by simply ordering their favorite Footlong from participating restaurants, through the Subway app, or order.subway.com

“The realities we’re facing as a country and here at home in Michigan, make it imperative that we come together and support one another within our communities,” said Abby Moniz, fifth-generation president of the family-owned Forward Corporation. “Our Forward family has stood with communities in Michigan through the Great Depression, 9/11 and the financial crisis of 2008, and while today’s challenges are admittedly unprecedented, we know we are going to get through them, together.”

Community members wanting to help neighbors in need can purchase their favorite Footlong secure in the knowledge that Subway and Forward Corporation have taken aggressive steps to ensure the safety of customers and employees. These include increased frequency of cleaning and sanitizing, continued reinforcement of existing health and food safety protocols and moving to a takeout and delivery-only model.
