Forward Corp. raised over $26,000 for Camp Timbers of West Branch at Forward Corp.’s 35th Annual Golf Outing at The Nightmare Golf Course in West Branch on Aug. 30.
“Forward Corporation’s support of YMCA Camp Timbers will make it possible for even more kids from our region to experience the benefits of summer overnight camp next year,” Director of Camping Services Brian Miller said. “As a nonprofit summer camp, we strive to ensure no child misses out on camp due to financial reasons. This is achieved through the generous annual support of foundations, businesses, and individuals.”
A total of $26,128.07 was raised at the event from golfer registration fees, hole sign sponsorships, and games on the course.
“This is the first year Forward Corp. has partnered with Camp Timbers of West Branch,” Forward Corp. President Abby Moniz said. “We are incredibly proud to partner with Camp Timbers to raise money for such a deserving cause.”
144 golfers participated in the event, including Forward Corp. vendors from all over Michigan.
“In 2022, our goal is to ensure scholarships are available for at least 192 campers, equal to the total number of bunk beds at YMCA Camp Timbers,” Miller said. “Forward Corporation’s support from this golf outing will provide scholarships for at least 50 campers – which is a key contribution in reaching that goal!”
Next year’s outing is scheduled to take place at The Dream Golf Course in West Branch.
