Forward Corporation is proud to announce that $6,500 was raised as part of Shell’s Giving Pump Program. $5,750 was raised for The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Michigan and $750 for the Arenac Community Center.
“We are proud to support two great causes through Shell’s Giving Pump program to help raise money for such deserving causes,” Forward Corporation President Abby Moniz said. It is a great feeling to be able to give back and make a difference in our local communities.”
One pump at each of the 23 Forward Shell convenience stores was designated as the “Giving Pump” where 1¢ of the proceeds was donated to the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Michigan for every gallon of fuel pumped at that dispenser from September 1 through October 30. The proceeds from the Arenac County Shell locations were donated to the Arenac Community Center.
“The generous support from Forward Corporation will help ensure the state chapter can continue to provide a number of key support services, such as critical prevention programming like Keeping Kids Safe, to CACs throughout Michigan who are working every day to protect kids.”, said Tom Stuessy, CACMI’s Director of Organizational Strategy.
About Children’s Advocacy Center of Michigan:
A Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a safe, child-friendly environment where law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecution, victim advocacy, and medical and mental health professionals can share information and develop effective, coordinated strategies sensitive to the needs of each unique case for child victims of sexual abuse. Over the past 3 years, Michigan’s 40 CACs provided compassion, hope and healing to over 28,882 children and families.
Child sexual abuse is a community-wide problem that requires a community-wide response. CACMI offers prevention programming for adults from any community to learn about how they can recognize and respond to suspicions or disclosures of abuse through the Keeping Kids Safe program. Through this 1-hour virtual session, anyone can learn to spot the signs of abuse and how to make a report.
