Forward Corp. announced today it donated over $1,500 to the Freeland PTO as a result of a local fundraiser at its Freeland Subway location.
Earlier this fall, Forward pledged to donate 10% of its Saturday and Sunday sales during the month of October to the Freeland schools’ parent teacher organization. Those sales totaled $15,128.05, leading to a donation of $1,512.81.
“We greatly appreciate Forward and Subway’s partnership to support local schools,” said Jennifer McCullough, who heads fundraising for the Freeland PTO. “This donation will go a long ways to supporting the children of our district.”
The Freeland PTO funds a variety of initiatives and recently funded water bottle filling stations, alternative seating, subscriptions for Scholastic News for first graders and appreciation gift cards for staff. The organization is currently eyeing playground upgrades with future funding.
“Freeland has always been so supportive of our Subway location,” said Andrew Brown, Forward’s district manager in charge of its Subway locations. “So we’re thrilled to be able to give back to the community, as well.”
