STANDISH, Mich. (May 12, 2020) – Forward Corporation, owner and operator of the Quality Inn of West Branch, today announced the hotel will re-open on Wednesday, May 13. The Quality Inn of West Branch, located just off I-75, upon re-opening will employ enhanced safety measures to ensure the health and safety of guests and employees.

“As Michiganders begin to cautiously make their seasonal treks up North in the coming weeks, we are committed to instituting additional measures to ensure guests are safe while providing accommodations for their much-anticipated travels.” said Abby Moniz, fifth-generation president of Forward Corporation. “Cleanliness and sanitation have always been part of our core values at the Quality Inn of West Branch, and during this time, we are placing an even greater emphasis on cleaning procedures.”

The Quality Inn of West Branch has been closed several weeks in the wake of Michigan’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order, which severely restricted travel across the state and country. For its re-opening, the hotel has put the following cleaning and safety procedures in place:

  • All rooms are being booked/occupied on rotation to provide a minimum 24-hour window between guest stays. This gives housekeeping staff additional time to deep clean each room.

  • For every room turnover, the assigned housekeeping team member adheres to an exhaustive, 18-point checklist of items to be washed, cleaned, sanitized and changed. As a secondary protocol, a Choice International Trained room checker reviews and inspects the room to be “Certified Clean.”
  • Additional measures instituted to ensure guest rooms are clean, safe and comfortable amid COVID-19 concerns include cleaning and sanitizing in-room air filters after every stay, stripping and removing all bedding and towels and replacing them with certified clean and sanitized items, and sanitizing and adding a protective clean cover to remote controls between stays.
